The 10th of the SAUREDELT conference series, organized every year by the 3rd year students of our department's undergraduate program, was held on May 3, 2024, at Sakarya University Turgut Özal Culture and Congress Center under the theme "From Self-Regulation to Transformation: Empower, Engage, Excel".
In this conference, including international participation, Prof. Dr. Bena Gül Peker, known for her expertise in effective communication and NLP, Dr. Lyndsay R. Buckingham from Comillas Pontifical University in Spain/Madrid, Lect. Patrick T Randolph, an expert on English teaching materials from America, and Assit. Prof. Dr. Elif Bozyiğit, one of our department faculty members, provided plenary talks.
English Language Teaching undergraduate students from different universities in Türkiye and teacher candidates from Spain contributed to SAUREDELT-2024 with paper presentations. In the opening speech of the conference, which was attended by approximately 300 students, Vice Dean of Sakarya University Faculty of Education Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal İlknur Tunçeli and the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Education at Sakarya University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Merve Savaşçı touched upon the significant contribution of the conference to the development and self-regulation skills of pre-service English language teachers.
Paper presentations on different topics, such as the psychological well-being of teachers, the use of technology in language teaching, and the examination of English teaching curricula and multilingual classes, were presented to the audience and enriched with Q&A sessions.
At the closing ceremony of the conference, the Head of the SAUREDELT-2024 Organization Committee, Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Bozyiğit highlighted the meticulous work of the 3rd year students of our department, who made great efforts in the organization and successful realization of the conference, and invited all participants to SAUREDELT-2025.
