We attach importance to cultivating the whole person. Thus, as the department, we encourage our students to participate in social and cultural activities and events. As a part of our schedule, we periodically arrange some different activities and inbite our students.
Details about some of the activities and events within that scope are presented below.
1. The First International Conference of Quality in Higher Education
We maintain students' participation in the First International Conference of Quality in Higher Education held on December 12-13-14, 2013 ay Sakarya University Convention Center. In that way, our students enjoyed the opportunity of observing a number of academics' presentations, commentary sessions following them, and panel discussions.

2. Seminar entitled "Take This Step!"
The seminar offered by Ahmet Şerif İzgören, who is among the founders of İzgören Academy, was held at Sabancı Convention Center in Kocaeli. It helps our students to refresh their motivation and be well-informed about others' experiences of success and achievement.

3. English Language Teaching Gathering
Held just in advance of the misterms week on November 20, 2013; the dinner provides the students with the chance of coming together with each other and the faculty members, and enjoy their time accompanied by live music.
4. Seminar on the Use of Drama Techniques in Language Education
The department encourages the students to learn and implement innovative instructional techniques while teaching langauge. So, for the students of the ELT Department, a seminar on the topic stated in the title was organized at Eray Arts Center on April 12, 2013.
5. Theatre
Our students together with some of the lecturers attended a theatre play at Umraniye Theatre Hall on February 27, 2013.
6. Graduation Party
To bid a farewell to the teacher candidates and to gather at a dinner accompanied by entertainment and live music, a graduation part was organized on May 4, 2015 at NG Sapanca Wellness and Convention Hotel. All the faculty members and students enjoyed the time they spent together and extend ther best wishes to the teacher candidates.
We set our sights on contributing to our students' whole development as the department, thus we will organize further activities and events to that end.
