Transportation

Sakarya is known for its proximity to Istanbul, Bursa, and Ankara provinces due to its location and the variety of transportation opportunities. Sakarya could be reached by road, rail, and air. Transportation by road is provided by private bus companies or private vehicles. The distance between Istanbul and Sakarya is 148 km, between Bursa and Sakarya is 159 km, and between Ankara and Sakarya is 305 km.

Transportation by rail is provided by High-Speed Train (YHT), and it departs from the Arifiye district of Sakarya province. It takes 50 minutes from Istanbul to Sakarya, 1 hour 15 minutes from Eskişehir to Sakarya, and 2 hours 45 minutes from Ankara to Sakarya. 

Transportation by air is carried out via Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and Kocaeli Cengiz Topel Airport. Although there are flights to many provinces of Turkey from Istanbul Ataturk and Sabiha Gökçen Airports, only flights between Trabzon and Kocaeli provinces are made from Kocaeli Cengiz Topel Airport. 

Hendek Campus of the Faculty of Education has many transportation opportunities both to the Sakarya province to which it is connected and to the surrounding provinces and districts. The distance between Hendek to Sakarya is 36 km, and transportation is possible by bus. The Sakarya Municipality buses provide both urban and inter-district transportation with the Card 54 transportation card. You can follow the bus times of the municipality via your smartphone or tablet on the municipality's website or the Sakus portal in the SBB Mobile application.
